Did you know that worldwide about 2.2 billion people are suffering from myopia and vision impairment from refractive errors? The amazing thing is that up to 1 billion of them could have prevented vision problems with early screening and detection. However, regular eye examinations are still not paid attention to by everyone.
The eyes have the same structure and function as a camera. Abnormalities in the shape or length of the eye are likened to a misaligned lens, causing light to not be focused properly on the retina and vision to become blurred.
Myopia is a common refractive error. Adults and children with nearsightedness may have difficulty working, studying and living. Refractive errors in general and myopia in particular, if not detected early and treated promptly, will cause serious vision impairment.
