First, a small hole measuring between 1.8mm and 2.75mm is made in the cornea. Then, an ultrasound device is inserted through this hole into the eye to break the cataract into small pieces and help remove it from the eye.
- After the cloudy lens is completely removed, the artificial lens is placed in the same position. Usually, the wound does not need stitches.
